TEVO is participating in an international research and development project
TEVO is acting as a partner in a large international research and development project called HyDynPro (Hydroelastic effects and dynamic response of propellers and thrusters). The project will last for three years, it's total budget reaches 2,96 million Euros. This project was launched on the 1st of November 2011.
HyDynPro project consists of three national consortiums. Norway, Germany and Finland handle their financing each independently, but work together in six joint workpackages.
The Finnish part of the R&D project is led by the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT). Other Finnish partners are Rolls-Royce Oy Ab, ATA Gears Ltd, TEVO Oy and Tiivistepalvelu Oy. The national funding from Finland totals about one million Euros.
The Norwegian Technical and Natural Science University (NTNU) in Trondheim acts as the coordinator of the international consortium, they also lead the Norwegian national part. Rolls-Royce Marine AS and MARINTEK are the other Norwegian partners. The German partners are represented by the Dresden Technical University and Klingelnberg GMBH.
TEVO is naturally interested in the whole scope of the research title. Specific attention will be drawn to mass impact of propellers and hydroelastic response factors. TEVO aims primarily at obtaining newest reseach information also of the ice impact loads on propeller characteristics. In this section the Finnish partners will have the central contribution in the consortiums's workpackage.
TEVO is actively taking part in the three-year project. The company is represented in the project administration group by TEVO's own specialist, professor Mr. Juhani Vainio, together with his substitute Mr. Petteri Maaranen, M.S. (Tech.), who is TEVO's Quality Manager.
Compiled at TEVO on the 21st of November 2011.
