Science and research supplier awarded by CERN

We have supplied materials technology solutions to world-class projects. We were awarded the Golden Hadron Award from CERN as one of the best suppliers in the LHC project.

We manufactured stainless steel components for the LHC rotating loop pipe structure. The loop consists of 15-meter-long pipes that are covered at both ends with dipole magnets with end covers manufactured by us. The total length of the loop is 27 kilometres.

Quality throughout the production chain

The scope of supply was over 3,000 end covers. The advanced manufacturing technology on its own wasn't enough to guarantee the supplier contract. Our whole production chain also had to meet CERN's strict requirements.

The ITER fusion energy power plant

The ITER collaboration began in the late 1980s. The project is a milestone in making fusion energy a reality. The environmentally friendly energy is produced from ordinary water and easily accessible lithium.

We developed the manufacture of the ITER reactor's complex structure in cooperation with VTT (Technical Research Centre of Finland). We manufactured components by means of powder metallurgy and hot isostatic pressing (HIP).
